REPORTING NUISANCE ALLIGATORS

Residents should contact the SNAP Hotline (866) 392-4286 to report a nuisance alligator (one that is positing a threat to people, pets, or property). If the reporting resident does not own property into or to the water’s edge, a reference number will be provided.  Click on the following link to provide the District Manager with the FWC reference number.  The District Manager will contact FWC and granted the trapper legal access to District property.

Additional information on SNAP (Statewide Nuisance Alligator Program) is available on the FWC website.

Due to run-off pollutants in the stormwater ponds, chemical treatments in the water and along pond banks, and the potential for negative encounters with wildlife, the CDD advises against anyone entering, or allowing their pets to enter, the District’s stormwater tracts and/or wetland mitigation areas.  Please be aware that alligators will be more active and territorial during breeding/nesting season (May-September).

Feeding and/or harassing wildlife are federal offences. If you see someone breaking the law, contact FWC’s Law Enforcement Branch, at 888-404-3922.

Saddle Creek Preserve of Polk County Development District Disclosure

The Saddle Creek Preserve of Polk County Development District is a local, special purpose government entity authorized by Chapter 190 of the Florida Statutes as amended and created by Polk County Ordinance 19-067 as an alternative method of planning, acquiring, operating and maintaining community-wide improvements in planned communities. A CDD provides the “solution” to Florida’s need to provide valuable community infrastructure generated by growth, ultimately without overburdening other governments and their taxpaying residents. Community Development Districts represent a major advancement in Florida’s effort to manage its growth effectively and efficiently. This allows a developer to establish higher construction standards, meanwhile providing a long-term solution to the operation and maintenance of the community’s facilities.
